China Mobile's Chairman says that Steve Jobs has interest in LTE flavored Apple iPhone

According to Bloomberg, China Mobile's CEO, Wang Jianzhou, says that Apple CEO Steve Jobs has personally expressed an interest in an LTE flavored iPhone and is "willing to start the development at an early date." The LTE enabled version of the Apple iPhone would run on China Mobile's TD-LTE network. Although commercial use of a 4G network in China won't start until the second half of 2012, Verizon's 4G network has already started to rollout in major cities and thus would be ready for a possible Summer release of an LTE variant of the Apple iPhone. AT&T's LTE pipeline is well behind Big Red's and is supposed to start up in the middle of this year. Could the mobile operator have enough major markets up and running in time to support an Apple iPhone LTE launch this year?

The big question though is, what is considered an early date? Could the crew out in Cupertino already be working on an Apple iPhone 5 that supports LTE? After all, Apple might be considered behind the curve if the next model of its iconic touchscreen handset fails to have support for 4G. Verizon is expected to launch its first LTE handset, the HTC Thunderbolt, any day now while AT&T is now offering the Motorola ATRIX 4G, an Android model that uses AT&T's HSPA+ network to qualify for its 4G designation,

Just last month, we reported that Verizon Wireless CEO Dan Mead had said that Apple would be producing mobile devices for LTE networks. So now we have two very senior executives talking about a 4G iPhone. The only problem is that the third executive, whose comment would carry the most weight in the matter, has yet to utter a word in public about it.

New Modern Warfare 2 Patch Will Address Hacking on PS3

With Black Ops having more than it’s fair share of issues  on the PS3, many players have deferred back to Modern Warfare 2. The best selling title has had its share of problems since launch but Infinity Ward is standing behind its title and promises to deliver a patch to help curb hacking.
Of course, I didn’t just make up this information, Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward tweeted this little tidbit just moments ago

Sunday Times dismisses Prescott’s hacking claim

Lord Prescott’s claims that an investigation into phone hacking had been extended to The Sunday Times have been dismissed by the paper as "absolute nonsense".
The former Labour deputy prime minister, who has been told by Scotland Yard he is a potential hacking victim, alleged in the Lords that the inquiry now stretched beyond the News of the World.
Lord Prescott said: "Is the Minister aware that the investigation into the Murdoch press on phone hacking has been extended now to The Sunday Times?
"So the argument that it was simply one paper and one 'rogue reporter' is no longer true.
“It's a number of papers owned by the Murdoch press and a number of their employees who have been involved in withholding evidence and illegal practices."
Government whip and media spokesman Baroness Rawlings replied: "It is a very serious point that you raise regarding the hacking but I am not able to address this at this moment in this debate."
Reacting to Lord Prescott's claims, Sunday Times managing editor Richard Caseby said: "It's absolute nonsense."
Labour MP Tom Watson also use parliamentary privilege to make fresh allegations against News International - but withour providing any new evidence.
He said: "I believe the evidence exists that shows journalists currently employed on the Times and Sunday Times were involved in phone hacking and that damaging revelations were printed in the Sun from information possibly collected by illegal hacking.
"We are told that the BBC have been bullied into delaying broadcasting an edition of Panorama that shows more sinister forms of illegal surveillance.
"If the Metropolitan Police show the Secretary of State this evidence, will he change his mind?"
Hunt replied: "The issue of phone hacking is extremely serious. It's very, very important; someone has been sent to prison for it.
"But it is a judicial process and it's not one that it's appropriate for me to involve myself in."
A spokesman for the BBC said: "The BBC has not come under any external pressure to broadcast the programme and we will broadcast it when we are ready to do so."
A spokesman for News International told The Independent: "We have no idea what he [Watson] is talking about. It is not a coincidence that he has made such cowardly and substantiated claims under the cloak of parliamentary privilege. If he has any evidence, we urge him to provide it to us and we will take immediate action if proven."

Hacking theft leads to suit

Computer hackers in Ukraine siphoned $526,613 from a Baton Rouge credit union in September 2009 by making unauthorized wire transfers from a union account at Capital One, according to a lawsuit in federal district court.
The hackers stole that money by sneaking an e-mail attachment with malware — malicious software — past an accountant at the targeted institution, LES Federal Credit Union, the suit adds.
Ukraine is a country in eastern Europe and a former member of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
The U.S. Secret Service in Baton Rouge forwarded details of the crime to federal investigators in New York, where felony charges were filed in similar cases against more than 30 alleged criminals from Ukraine and other countries, a federal official said Friday.
The suit was filed Thursday in Baton Rouge against Capital One by Fidelity & Deposit Company of Maryland.
The Maryland firm insured LES, which was founded in 1950 to serve employees of the Louisiana Department of Labor. It has since expanded its services to employees of a number of private companies, as well.
“Capital One does not comment on pending litigation,” Julie Rakes, a spokeswoman for Virginia-based Capital One, said Friday.
LES members did not lose any cash, because each of their accounts was insured for up to $250,000 by the Federal Credit Union Administration.
In addition, more than $200,000 of the stolen funds were recovered before they could be picked up by criminals at wire transfer stations around the globe, Fidelity & Deposit said in its suit.
The insurer, however, reimbursed LES for $321,873 that went to “a den of thieves,” Fidelity & Deposit added.
LES maintained a commercial account at Capital One, according to the suit.
Capital One is alleged by the insurer to have permitted unauthorized wire transfers from that account after an LES accountant opened an e-mail attachment that was purported to contain an IRS query about LES’ taxes. The e-mail did not come from the IRS, but it carried malware that allowed the thieves to obtain the credit union’s user identifications and passwords.
The insurer said those mistakes enabled Ukrainian criminals to siphon money out of the credit union’s account at Capital One.
